Homeowners search for landscaping the way they think about it: "patio installation," "spring cleanup," "snow removal near me." A lot of landscaping company websites are a template with a few photos and a phone number, which gives Google little to match to those searches.
That's the opening. A landscaping site built around the jobs people actually search for gives Google, and homeowners, something to find.
The Service Pages You Need
Landscape design, lawn care, hardscaping (patios, retaining walls, walkways), irrigation, tree work, seasonal cleanup, snow removal: each one you offer needs its own page. The homeowner searching "patio installation [city]" is a different customer from the one searching "weekly lawn mowing near me." Your site needs to speak to both.
Publish seasonal pages well before the season. Google says crawling a new page can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks (Search Central, "Ask Google to recrawl your URLs"), and showing up well takes longer than that. A snow removal page that goes up after the first snowfall is late. Put it up in the fall, and spring cleanup in late winter.
The Visual Advantage
Landscaping is visual. Transformations are dramatic and before-and-after photos sell the job. Photograph every project and organize the photos by service and town.
Those photos do more than one job: they fill your portfolio, your Google Business Profile and your social media, and they can show up in Google Images. Give each one a plain description of what's in it, like "paver patio with seat wall, Shelby Township." Use only photos of your own work, never stock.
