A Macomb County finish carpenter

No ads. One new review. Website requests went from about 4 a month to 10.

Google showed his site nearly four times as often between April and October, but requests didn't move until there was a way to ask for a quote on every page people landed on.

Google Maps

He's in the map's top 3 at 1 of 75 spots we checked. The requests came through his website.

What changed, in the order it shipped

Before September the site and its town pages were already live, and requests held at 3 to 5 a month.

  1. Aug 11 and 29

Page titles lead with the service and the county instead of the business name.

  2. Sep 3

A quote form on all 22 town pages.

  3. Sep 4

A page for each service in the four towns he named, plus his own town: 28 pages.

  4. Sep 8

A quote form on 10 blog posts and 38 project pages.

Where people came in

  • – Most came from Google and landed on the homepage.
  • – Three landed on town pages that got a quote form on September 3: Macomb Township, Grosse Pointe and Richmond.
  • – On November 3, the first request came in through one of the service-by-town pages.

Google Maps

Searched “finish carpenter” from 25 spots across his area on November 2, 2026. He was in the top 3 at 1 and in the top 20 at 7. For “custom cabinets” and “custom built-ins” he isn't in the top 20 at any of the 25 spots.

The map is where the next requests are. That means his Google profile and reviews that name the job and the town.

What this can't prove

  • – We can't prove our changes caused the increase. The season was changing at the same time.
  • – October was down from September, and two months is a short record.
  • – We can't yet tell whether the Google visitors came through his Google listing or regular search.
  • – We don't measure jobs or revenue, so we don't report them.

How it was counted

  • – People: requests sent through the site's forms, each person counted once, with spam and our own daily test leads left out. It's the same count as his monthly report.
  • – Phone taps: taps on the phone number on the site. We see the tap, not whether the call connected.
  • – Google: Search Console, the times his site was shown in search and the clicks to it, by month. Searches that look like an automated rank checker (the same search every day from one kind of device) are left out.
  • – Map: Google Maps, logged out, searched from 25 spots across his area and matched to his listing, with ads left out.
